My name is Josh Cahill and I am the owner/founder of Innovative Landscaping and Design. I have always had a strong passion for the outdoors ever since I moved to London at 8 years old. I grew up playing many outdoor recreational sports including soccer and golf, as well as mountain biking.  

 

Growing up, my uncle would do the odd landscaping job for people he knew given his backyard was immaculate, even featured in several magazines. He would routinely ask for my assistance with these jobs where I would help out any way that I could. Being able to witness firsthand the transformation from a blank canvas into a masterpiece was exhilarating.  

 

When I was in high school my other passion for cars led to wanting to become a mechanic. I began an apprenticeship program after high school but decided that keeping cars as a hobby made more sense.

 

My girlfriend at the time now wife, Shannon, and I eventually bought our first house together and four years later got married. Knowing that we had plans to eventually start a family together, I pursued a job with steady work and a guaranteed pay. This led me to joining my dad as a bus operator for the city of London. As much as I enjoyed being on the road and having the opportunity to meet many new people, my passion for the outdoors was still in the back of my mind. Eventually I ended up starting my landscaping business on the side. After that first year I realized I wanted to take the leap and do landscaping full time.

 

Shannon and I had our first son, Liam, and so it was difficult to make that decision to leave a steady job and go all in on my landscaping business. But after turning so many projects from nothing into something so much more and having so many customers telling me I should be doing this full time; I took the leap of faith!

 

April 2023 was the official start of my full-time career at Innovative Landscaping and Design. I worked extremely hard through the 2023 season, soaking up every little bit of customer feedback. I took this feedback to continually improve and grow my business along with the support of my family, friends and referrals from previous customers.  

 

As the 2023 season came to a close, the newest addition to the family arrived, Noah. My wife and two boys mean the world to me, and I enjoy every single minute I get to spend with them. We enjoy going for family hikes/walks, watching hockey on the big screen and even blowing leaves in the laneway with dad’s leaf blowers.
